Summary

A contrarian rebuttal to the fashionable hatred of Boomers. Boomers oversaw the greatest stretch of peace and prosperity in history and, per inflation-adjusted same-age comparisons, passed on MORE money to their children than they inherited - so what is the grievance? 'Schrodinger's Boomer' gets blamed for being simultaneously too left and too right, but generational gaps on most political questions are barely measurable. The 'they're plundering the young via pensions' theory fails the data: Social Security's generosity actually peaked in 1972 and has only contracted since; spending rises because the elderly are more numerous and longer-lived, not because of a vote-yourself-benefits hack. The deeper objection: anti-Boomerism is just another round of identity politics - 'a cheap way of hating everything' (every institution was shaped by Boomers) - and ageism is uniquely self-defeating, since you will become the resented old generation yourself.

Why this score

Quality 74 · Strong. A sharp, data-backed, characteristically contrarian rebuttal that punctures a popular narrative with real evidence (the income comparison; the Social-Security-generosity history) and a genuine frame (anti-Boomerism as a cheap excuse to hate everything; ageism as self-defeating); capped by being topical and rebuttal-shaped. Strong, upper end.

Claude’s paradigm shift 45 · Moderate. Applies his standing anti-identity-politics stance and standard data; the 'cheap way of hating everything' and self-defeating-ageism framings are fresh, the underlying ideas are not. Moderate.

Real-world impact 2 · Minor. A data-backed, contrarian rebuttal that punctures the fashionable hatred of Boomers with real evidence (the inflation-adjusted income comparison; the Social-Security-generosity history) and a frame (anti-Boomerism as a cheap excuse). Conceptual influence within intellectual discourse, topical, no material change — low RWI.
